But before my first visit, I received the most helpful (and accessible!) instructions on where to park even before I even left my house. This doctor’s office really knows their patients and what each one of them might be experiencing before someone even arrives in the office. They realized that a long walk and climbing stairs from the first floor to the second floor where the office is would be too much for me. They instructed me to drive around to the back of the building and park there to enter.
As I entered the office and realized how much time, heart stress and energy I had been spared, I was so shocked and awed by these simple helpful instructions.
Simple instructions, simple changes, and the forethought to know how someone can benefit from these adaptations helps everyone!
Most accessiblity recommendations that I make for organizations with their email messages are things that don’t require a large investment of time or budget.
Let’s focus on the low-hanging fruit early in 2025 to help everyone!
