NaviLens Go app on back of Kellogg's Rice Krispies box.

Kellogg’s impressed me at the breakfast table this morning!

(Thanks to years of reading the box while eating cereal like many of us Gen X folks, I discovered something amazing that rewarded that behavior today.)

You may remember a few months ago when I shared that I had trouble reading package labels and asked for those who create them to find a way for this information to become accessible to all? Kellogg’s has heard the call and answered it!

The Rice Krispies box that I ate from this morning included a code, similar to a QR code, that can be scanned with the NaviLensGo app. This app then scanned that code and brought up all of the product information up on my phone in a size that I and many others can now read easily. (This technology was released back in 2022, but this is the first time I’ve actually seen it in action here in New Jersey so am super excited!)

On the back of the box the Kellogg Company mentions they are proud to be the first food company to feature this technology on its packaging in the U.S. And accessibility is a part of their commitment to create better days for 3 billion people by the end of 2030. I’m excited to see what else is coming.

Please join me in rewarding the Kellogg Company for taking this first step and using accessible technology and encouraging others to do the same!
